A Call for Progressive General Election Pacts in Brighton & Hove, Lewes and Eastbourne

Unite Don’t Fight: Back the Pacts! A call for Progressive General Election Electoral Pacts in Brighton & Hove, Lewes and Eastbourne

Brighton is rightly renowned as a liberal, politically progressive, open minded city and we want our elected politicians to represent that majority view after the General Election!

The vote on June 8th gives us a great opportunity to return two progressive MPs in Hove & Portslade and Brighton Pavilion, and gain another in Brighton Kemptown.

We call on all progressive parties in the city to not split our votes by fighting for unwinnable seats, but instead join forces in an electoral pact to agree to stand and campaign for one candidate between them per constituency.

And Brighton & Hove does not have to stand in glorious isolation! We have two other constituencies in Sussex, in Lewes and Eastbourne, that could equally return a progressive candidate if we work together. So we also call on progressive parties in those constituencies to be the agents of change and back the pacts!

Under our current unfair electoral system, this is our best chance to defeat the government and bring about the progressive policies our communities so badly need.

We say...Unite Don’t Fight: Back the Pacts!
