Flag emojis are some of the most useful and popular emojis available. People use a flag to express their identity, and few states, save for Colorado, South Carolina, or Texas, have such pride in their flag as our state of North Carolina. A drive through any Raleigh neighborhood will show them proudly flying. If the emoji library expanded to include state flags, it could also push as an incentive for young people to support better aesthetic design for their state banner, because they would be more familiar with better state flags. Also, because Unicode recently made the addition of the pride flag, and fixed the shapes of the Swiss and Nepali flags, the time is perfect for the addition of state flags.
