Bring Back the Guillotine

Emoji have become an integral part of our culture and language. In a tech driven society of late stage capitalism, obsessed with visual representations of happiness, their cutesy and delightful imagery is persistently affirming and positivistic. Colors are bright, shapes are round and even sadness is expressed through a yellow smiley face. Emoji can be seen as the epitome of the happiness imperative.

A guillotine symbolizes the dismantling of the old regime. A guillotine emoji would allow us to better convey our demands for social, racial and economic equality. It would help with mobilization efforts of building an opposition to the systemic injustice and greed.
