There is currently a chipmunk emoji in the Unicode, but no squirrel. This distinction is made clear by the stripes going down the sides of the emoji animal. The squirrel is a very iconic and essential animal. Among the "Animals & Nature" section of the emoji keyboard on all Apple products, there are multiple emojis of different breeds of dogs, and some animals even have multiple emojis available that view the animal from different angles. There are also multiple more obscure animals that have been given an emoji, such as the Water Buffalo, or the Flamingo - and yet no squirrel? It just doesn't seem just. Please support this cause to bring justice to the millions of squirrels out there, who are being poorly represented, or misrepresented by their chipmunk counterparts, in the media.
