UN Refugee agency in Libya has almost totally abandoned supporting refugees in Libya. Since the country entered civil war, human trafficking gangs, militias and warlords have been able to exploit, torture, rape, abuse and even kill the refugees, mainly from other African countries entering Libya. There have been many petitions circulating regarding ending the trafficking and organ but none have been directly to the UN agency supposed to support refugees in Libya. We urge this agency to UPSCALE their efforts in Libya, especially since GNA is gaining territory and stability is slowly but surely growing in Libya. We also urge the agency to provide better financial assistance to those stranded in Libya who escape smugglers.
