Car Tax Petition of 13,000 signatures presented to Minister for Finance

Michael Noonan, Minister for Finance, was presented with the Car Tax Petition of 13,000 signatures on 14th April, including 4000 comments from signatories (not linked to names). Hard copies were also delivered to four other political leaders in the Dail. Soft copies of a small sample of signatures and comments (not linked to names) were emailed to all 158 TDs in the Dail. Petition list consisted of name and city / town. 1,000,000 Irish Car Owners (pre-2008) are paying unfair penal car tax, subsidising those who own NEW CARs (and their Water Charges). The Car Tax Petition will remain open to enable additional supporters to continue to join and maintain the pressure on the political parties and Dept of Finance to reform this odious, unfair and offensive car tax law.
