This comment is regarding Item N on the meeting agenda referencing Power Cost Adjustment (PCA) for the Utility meeting to be held on October 25 2022.

I would like to begin this comment with a statement made by a member of this Board of Commissioners. In a statement prepared for public release on October 23, 2022, Vice Mayor McVoy reports this statement “Beginning in April, the delivered market price of Natural Gas increased to more than $14/mBTU. He claims that this cost was passed on by Orlando Utilities Commission, who supplies Lake Worth Utilities with electricity.

The problem with this claim is Orlando Utilities Commission’s natural gas turbines, running 24/7 365 days a year, are fired on gas purchased through Natural Gas futures. I am very confident in that fact! Going back as far a April of 2022 the natural gas futures market price has never gone above $7.88/mBTU. By the way has turned around and has been dropping since!

So many questions! So few answers!

The numbers do not add up! Nothing about this press release adds up! We demand explanations – Immediately!
