To
Honorable Prime Minister,
Govt of India,
New Delhi.
Sub:-Request to permanently delete the name of Sri Harmandar Sahib, Amritsar Sahib from the world heritage nomination list sent by India Govt. in April 2014.
Srimaan ji,
We want to bring in your notice that in 2004 a list of some Indian places had been sent to UNESCO for nomination as World Heritage sites. Our holy and spiritual Sri Harmandar Sahib was also one of them with these details:-

Sri Harimandir Sahib, Amritsar, Punjab

The move to get Sri Harmandar Sahib declared as a world heritage site by Unesco ran into rough weather even as a section of international Sikh community had raised serious objections for keeping the dossier on sri Darbar sahib as a top secret document . UNESCO had also given credence to the objections raised by the representatives of various Sikh organisations and had asked the government of India to ensure the participation of the community before Sri Harmandar sahib is declared a world heritage site .
Facing opposition by international Sikh community,SGPC withdrew the dossier. We understand that India is required to refresh the tentative list every ten years. It is strange to us,after 10 year when the list was refreshed in April 2014;the name of sri Harmandar sahib is still standing on the tentative list of Indian sites.
