The University of New England's president Danielle Ripich consistently has shown and continues to show, through her actions and through the actions of those under her, poor leadership skills and atrocious spending skills.  While constantly raising student tuition to approximately $50,000, they have ended the Marine Animal Rehabilitation and Conservation program, a program which helped rebound local marine wildlife populations, without warning to the students or staff scheduled to work there for the summer.  The administrators, more recently, okayed an unusable "temporary" running track for our track team.  To make this, they did not level the track, simply painted over the asphalt, and did not make the track an appropriate regulation length or shape, making it unable to be used by our track team.  She and her administration also exert extensive pressure on the school's student government to pass unpopular rules, and then use these as examples of student-initiated movements to reap grant money and positive press, effectively lying for them.

These are just some of the most recent examples of poor judgement and poor spending under the university's president and others in her administration.  The request for her immediate and unconditional resignation would be a benefit to our university as a whole.  Her seeming inability or unwillingness to listen to the members of the UNE community is shameful, and has no place on this campus.
