In 2026, Wells Foodservice replaced their original ingredients for their popular Bomb Pops popsicles and now use "colors from natural sources" for coloring the popsicles.  The Original Bomb Pops now include several new ingredients, such as turmeric extract, spirulina extract, vegetable juice and carrageenan, which is extracted from certain types of red seaweed.  Guar Gum, Xanthan Gum, Cellulose Gum, Carob Bean Gum have also been added, while the original Red 40 and Blue 4 from Bomb Pop's classic formula have been removed.  In fact, the original ingredients for Bomb Pop were cheaper to make the popsicles with and were more stable than the new ingredients currently being used.  Fans have noticed that the red layer of the Bomb Pop tastes different, the blue layer is now much icier and harder than before, and the shape of the Bomb Pop popsicle itself is now smaller in size, smoother in shape, and skinnier overall.  While the company insists the taste of the Bomb Pops will not be affected, fans who have had the new Bomb Pops do, in fact, notice a considerable difference in taste and prefer the original taste for their Bomb Pops popsicles.

We, the fans, would like the new "natural sources" version of Bomb Pops to go the way of New Coke by getting rid of the recent changes made to the iconic formula and to have Wells Enterprises bring back the classic Original Bomb Pops ingredients and flavors as soon as possible.
