Stop the Corporate bullying Tactics by Under Armour, Keep American Dream Alive

The Issue

Please help us to protect our small business from corporate bullying.

Hello everyone! My name is Juliet and I am the founder of Armorina women's activewear and lifestyle brand, a startup women's apparel company that is based in New York. In 2018, I set out to make my dream a reality, creating apparel brand Armorina to support and empower women through fashion and active lifestyle. Armorina is inspired by the diversity of people and culture that New York City offers. The name Armorina means strong like a warrior, and beautiful and elegant like a ballerina.

With all the passion and hard work that I have put into the company, Armorina has been so blessed by continuing to grow, until we received a threatening cease and desist letter from Under Armour. UA demanded that we abandon our mark and permanently desist all the goods with the armorina mark, they claim our mark will cause brand confusion.

To protect the brand, we have been forced to hire legal counsel to defend ourselves from Under Armour's meritless trademark litigation. As a small company, the cost of the legal fees will drown us before we make it to the end of the litigation. This is exactly what UA aims to do to - crush us financially so we won't able to defend ourselves.

We are not the only company that has been threatened by Under Armour's meritless claims. In addition to making the case financially impossible for small businesses to defend, Under Armour has filed a lawsuit against us in federal court in Maryland for trademark infringement. This could cost up to $500,000 legal defense fees. UA has also ordered us to destroy all products, transfer our domain name to Under Armour, pay $100,000 for the registration and use of the armorina.com domain name, pay their attorney's fees, and more!

I have put so much hard work into this company, working toward my dream to achieve the American dream. With Under Armour's meritless lawsuit, I am at risk of losing everything that I have built with my hard-earned dollars and work.

Receiving your support would allow us to defend our company and continue doing business that brings a positive impact on our community, that supports other small businesses and that empower others to pursue their American Dream. Please join us in protecting small businesses and make changes!
