The Issue
The United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child (UNCRC) is a human rights treaty which aims to ensure the civil, political, economic, social, health and cultural rights of children. The Convention defines a child as any human being under the age of eighteen, unless the age of majority is attained earlier under national legislation. United States Ratification would help establish a framework for legislatures and official would establish framework so our leaders could create efficient and sustainable policies and programs that address the specific needs of children and families.
