On January 29, 2024, a tragic incident unfolded, resulting in the fatal stabbing and shooting of our beloved pet dog Bandit. My name is Sierra, and I'm compelled to write this petition among deep grief, personal pain, and distress. The devastating loss of Bandit has left an indelible mark of sorrow on my family and me. To add to our pain, our other two dogs - Brody and Midnight - were unjustly removed from our home by authorities. Allegations have surfaced suggesting that Bandit, along with Brody and Midnight, were involved in an altercation with another dog in front of our residence. However, this has yet to be proven and the inconsistencies of how my other two dogs Brody and Midnight, were able to be safely transported back into the home remains a mystery.

I have so many questions but no answers. No one has spoken to us. The only thing evident is one of my dogs was murdered while my other two dogs were secured inside my home when I arrived at the scene. We are now separated due to circumstances beyond our control. This separation is not just emotionally devastating for my family and I, but also distressing for them. 

Despite witnesses being spoken to by police, no evidence has been provided to us, leaving us in the dark regarding the circumstances of the incident. We were not included in the investigative process nor were we provided with any updates regarding the incident. Witnessing exchange of cell phone footage of the evidence at the scene only adds to our curiosity. It's heartbreaking to think that such an incident could have occurred. As a pet owner, I wholeheartedly accept accountability for my dog's actions. Despite repeated attempts to reach the pet owner regarding the alleged incident, my efforts have been met with silence. If it is proven that my dog has caused harm to another dog, it would greatly sadden me, as I hold a deep affection for animals. As a pet owner and lover I want to emphasize regardless of the circumstances, If a dog is involved in an altercation with another dog, there are appropriate and humane ways to handle the situation.

In cases where legal or disciplinary action may be warranted, it's crucial to approach the situation with fairness, objectivity, and respect for the rights of all parties involved. Ultimately, by approaching dog altercations with empathy, responsibility, and a commitment to humane treatment, we can help ensure the safety and well-being of both animals and promote a culture of respect and compassion within our communities.

We are calling for full transparency regarding the evidence leading to Bandit's fatal shooting. We demand immediate release of Brody and Midnight unless substantial evidence is provided posing them as a threat to society. 

Therefore, I urge you all to support this cause - help reunite a family torn apart by unfortunate circumstances. Your signature can make a difference; it can bring us one step closer to justice for Bandit and bringing back home what truly belongs there – our beloved dogs Brody and Midnight who are very much more than pets; they're family.

This incident has raised serious concerns about how cases are handled in our city. According to City Code Ordinances, proper procedures must be followed while dealing with such incidents involving pets. We have rights as well. (source: City Code Chapter 10). However, it seems these protocols may not have been adhered to in this case.
