Our petition asking Cheshire West and Chester Council (CWAC) to uncover Chester Amphitheatre and stop negotiations with developers wanting to develop the site above Chester's Amphitheatre for the next 150 years, has today hit the media, BBC Northwest Tonight have been on location at the Amphitheatre all day today interviewing members of the public, ourselves and council representatives about the proposals. The program will feature on Tuesday evenings Northwest Tonight on BBC1. Chester's Dee106.3 will be broadcasting the story on the news all day tomorrow. (Tuesday) Chester Standard have today run a story titled 'Uncovering Amphitheatre in Chester for tourism is a no-brainier', meanwhile the petition has topped the 5,000 mark in just 4 days. Tomorrow an Open Letter from over 50 local businesses will be sent to all local media outlets calling on CWAC Council to listen to the opinions of the public who they represent and call on leader Samantha Dixon to halt any deal with developers and look at alternative options which would promote the amphitheatre as a 'must-see' tourist attraction.
