Dear fellow Trash Isles citizens,
Thank you for bearing with us during a busy period for the campaign. However we're now pleased to welcome a host of new famous Trash Isles ambassadors to join the fight against plastic pollution in our oceans. Hollywood stars Chris Hemsworth, Mark Ruffalo, Jeff Goldblum and Gerard Butler are just some of the names that have joined the 200,000 other Trash Isles citizens with the aim of eradicating plastic pollution in our oceans.
With plastic set to outweigh fish in our oceans by 2050, the importance of this issue is growing by the day. Lord of the Rings actor, Andy Serkis spoke to us about our growing reliance of one-use plastic; “we can’t get away from it and it will not get away from us… we have to take responsibility.”
Whilst the United Nations praised the Trash Isles campaign as “creative and innovative”, Stéphane Dujarric (U.N. spokesperson) said the chances of it becoming a legitimate country was “nil”. However with your help, we’re going to keep going and will continue the fight against plastic pollution.
So let’s keep going fellow countrymen, spread the word and help ensure the world’s first country made of trash, is its last.
Thank you,
LADbible / Team Trash Isles
