Interim Chancellor Katherine Newman just announced that UMASS Boston will have a virtual ceremony instead of an in-person event. With everything that is happening, we understand why in May they could not host a commencement but we want to urge the UMASS Boston committee to postpone the ceremony until late summer (August) in order for everyone to participate in person. As our college experiences come to an end, we want to be able to graduate with our undergraduate class of 2020. There are people who have waited all 4 years for this moment. Please sign this petition so we can convince UMASS Boston to rethink their decision and postpone our commencement.
