In-Person Pinning Ceremony

The Issue

This petition form is made in effort to grant the class of 2021 Nursing Cohort of UMass Boston with an in-person Pinning Ceremony. This ceremony symbolizes the hard work and dedication of these nursing students over the years towards their goal of becoming a registered nurse. It is a very special ceremony that is well-deserved. It is very possible for this ceremony to safely happen in-person, and there is no reason that it cannot be in-person.

Currently, there are other schools that are allowing in-person graduation ceremonies that include thousands of students. Our nursing cohort only consists of about 106 students. Mass.gov recently put out a document stating the ceremonies are allowed to happen in Massachusetts, effective as of March 22, 2021. We are not asking for a lot. We just want to have a ceremony in-person that we all worked so hard for, that can absolutely happen safely and efficiently.

Please sign this petition to help us get the ceremony that we deserve! :)
