Several years ago, policy makers encouraged the take-up of diesels because they emitted lower levels of CO2 compared to petrol vehicles. But then scientists and environmentalists began to focus on other air pollutants that are harmful to people, such as the mixture of nitrogen oxides (NOx) and Particulates (PM)

They were wrong,

They again have it wrong and they know it.

TFL are Fraudulently fining Londoner’s under the ULEZ scheme for higher polluting cars, (older cars) when the opposite is true,

52% of all the small particle pollution from road transport came from tyre and brake wear in 2021, plus a further 24% from abrasion of roads and their paint markings. Just 15% of the emissions came from the exhausts of cars and a further 10% from the exhausts of vans and HGVs.

Public transport is the biggest polluter.

Buses are heavy, so wear tyres and brakes quicker, putting a big electric motor and battery on them, make them heavier.

Electric vehicles are heaver that ICE, (internal combustion engines), they wear tyres and brakes quicker, wear the road out quicker, and that’s without the cost to the environment from making the power needed to charge them.  

Lessons are not being learnt.

A scientific paper published by researchers from King's College London in 2019 found the air in Tube carriages is 18 times worse than the roadside air above ground. “When you've got stations across the Jubilee, Victoria, and Northern lines exceeding that safe limit, it's a real cause for concern.

All the above needs investigating, just because its government does not make it right.

victims must know that the police will do something about their crime. Fraud now accounts for over 40% of crime but receives less than 1% of police resource.
