Mark Adams started this petition to UK Public

The BBC is being allowed to charge a television licence fee in the UK for anyone watching live media content from any international media organisation over the Internet. No BBC investment in infrastructure is being utilised, just the public internet. This media is not accessed using a television. The BBC have nothing to do with the creation, maintenance and ongoing provision of the technology to enable the content to be delivered to modern devices that people are already paying for data contracts to allow them to access these media streaming services. The BBC should not have a god or government given right to charge people or to penalise people for accessing media experiences that they have gradually negotiated out of delivering. Formula 1 and other athletic, rugby and football sports media being a very good example. The BBC is entitled to charge for its own content and be judged by it in a competitive marketplace but should not enjoy a monopoly in charging for live content streaming from anywhere in the world to the UK
