This is London today. And this is just the beginning. We are nowhere near the peak.
I have been working on the floor locally  in the North West of England and all I can tell you is this- every single patient I have seen has COVID.
Young or old, they are extremely sick. Some have died. Most are men.
Yet the restaurants are heaving tonight. The pubs are full.
We will pay for that in two weeks (incubation period).
So as your friend I must say- AVOID HUMANS. Children are the silent culprits. They seem invincible to COVID but they are naughty little spreaders. Do not let them have play dates. And do NOT let them near their grandparents.
You may think I am being alarmist.
You will not think so in a few days. Trust me.
Please do your bit.
Stay home. You have the choice. We NHS workers don’t. Many of us will get COVID. We will be burying our colleagues. The Italians already are. 13 Italian doctors have died. One was a fit man not many years older than me. Doctors have died of COVID in this country. Some are fighting for their lives as we speak.
The government may not have locked you down- impose your own curfew. The horse has already bolted but we can try and reduce the death toll.
