The Issue

I have tirelessly followed the efforts of the indigenous peoples of America who are protecting their water from the North Dakota access pipeline on Sioux treaty land at Standing Rock reservation. I believe we, the United Kingdom, uphold democracy and rights for all at both national and international levels: we must voice our concerns to our American allies over the actions taken by the local authorities in North Dakota. If we do not call out injustices they will only become more prevalent, we can learn this from history.

G4S, a British firm, is hiring the DAPL security staff on behalf of Energy Transfer Partners, the pipeline corporation, who have used excessive force, and military style tactics upon peaceful people there to pray. As a promoter of democracy, freedom and unity, i oppose terrorism in all its forms. Our oxford dictionary states that terrorism is the "unofficial or unauthorized use of violence and intimidation in the pursuit of political aims".

I claim that the first peoples of America are upholding their first amendment rights to protest peacefully on their own treaty land, and this is being suppressed with excessive and unneeded force by local authority and security firms on behalf of Energy Transfer Partners, the corporation behind the Pipeline - this is terrorism, and we have a duty as peace promoters to oppose it and voice our concerns,we have in the past. it seems to me the world governments have turned their back to what is happening.
I ask you to uphold our British values of democracy, peace and rights to protest and promote them once more to our US friends.

I ask for our British government to recognise the violation of human rights upon the indigenous peoples of America and address the US establishment.

every single signature will be appreciated from the depth of my heart, i care greatly for freedom and justice, this is not what i am seeing. Please #standwithstandingrock
