The old subsidies given to meat and dairy have fuelled the eco crisis we're now in. Let's push for them to be transferred to incentivise farmers to grow TREES which bear fruit and nuts for our long term food security and sovereignty. Walnuts are full of Omega oils and protein and grow well in our climate. Mulberries are so delicious and nutritious and have been planted since the 19th century in British soil. They're also very beautiful trees which will eventually yield valuable timber. Growing food and medicinal plants will help us be independent and self sufficient as an island, as well as beautifying the environment and supporting wildlife. We currently feed wheat corn and soya to millions of pigs hens and cows when we could eat them ourselves directly and avoid so much pollution and effluent.
