To have a permanent barrier on Burnham-on-Sea jetty to stop another tragedy.

The Issue

Burnham-on-sea is a seaside town in Somerset and in the past month we have had 3 incidents on the jetty where people have very nearly drowned. This is after these people have walked passed some signs on the jetty surface.
During 2012 a tragic accident happened when a young family came down to Burnham-on-Sea to visit relatives and decided to go to the beach, the family played on the sand and splashed in the water along the jetty when unfortunately Dylan slipped into the sea, Both Dylan’s parents tried to save young Dylan but unfortunately he was swept out to sea.
The local emergency services spent hours searching for Dylan, (all the local services are volunteers) day and night but with no luck.
4 days later Dylan was found less than a mile away from where he fell in. The whole community felt the pain for Dylan’s family. A sign in memory of Dylan can be seen on the seafront.
what we want to see is a more permanent deterrent on the jetty, before we have another accident.

please help us in signing this so that we can move a step closer to a safer jetty at Burnham-on-Sea.
