The way doctors prescribe paracetamol on the NHS

The Issue

Guys this is so serious

Help save the NHS

You , me and everyone you know can save the NHS over £70million every year by not getting a prescription for paracetamol.

Now let me tell you why I am posting this
I went to the doctors with a headache that I have had for around two weeks. Worried that there is something more serious I thought I would have it checked out.

The doctor simply said I need a holiday it's a tension headache (checked my blood pressure)
And asked if I pay for my prescription.
I currently get universal credit despite working full time , as self employed in my first year of business I get support with income.

"No" I said I do not pay
He began to write a prescription
" don't write me a prescription for paracetamol I will just get some it's fine"i went on to say having heard about this issue before

To my horror my doctor said " hey what ever you can get for free you may aswell take it "

I was so shocked that someone who should be doing what he can to help the NHS would freely write a unwanted prescription against my saying for something that would cost me as little as 19p in the supermarket as apposed to over £3 to the NHS

This has to stop!

I will not be taking my prescription into the chemist and I urge everyone of you to do the same. Please!
Just think where this money could be spent and how much it would benefit the NHS.

Doctors need retraining on this matter and shouldn't give a light prescription so easily
Maybe some 20p coupons can be supplied to doctors to give to patients instead of a prescription for paracetamol would be a great step forward for surgeries this alone would save around £3

Please share I think this could make a change
