I myself am a current year 12 student, who alongside my peers, needs to return to school parallel to the youngest students in the country. Us as young adults are missing out on vital content for A level and GCSE which is essential for our future endeavours.  It is to ensure with particular emphasis on Year 12, that they get their needed time at school so their careers are not hindered due to worse and unreflective exam results in the future. We as teenagers are facing inequalities already and these can not be reflected in the awarding of marks next year, these include the quality of home schooling received, the amount of technology in the house hold, the teachers motivation to set work as well as their access to resources such as Microsoft teams which are only available to the most affluent and primarily private schools. Do not let inequality hinder these students chance of success, and moreover the mental health struggle of self motivation and the unknown for what is to come in terms of awarding marks, the least the government could do would be allowing us to return to school at the same point as the youngest children, who evidently have many years to go before these life changing exams. Let’s make a difference and allow students like myself have a fair and fulfilling chance of success in examinations next year. It is the right thing to do. I am not saying to have schools return as normal, schools need to use there initative and own discression to minimise spread, however if people can return to work then us as the future deserve the right to sufficient education for our exams.
