Shauney huntriss (22) a girl with cerebral palsy, was born 11 weeks premature along side her twin sister. Holly was absolutely fine but the same coudn't be said for shauney who was in and out of hospital with operations on her legs to help improve her overall benefit of life. It was hard growing up for shauney as she was constantly bullied for her appearance and for the fact she was considered diffrent. Shauney just wants to live a normal independent life free from her restraints of her condition. She is currently fundraising for a SDR surgery.
Selective Dorsal Rhizotomy
Has been proven to help young person's with cerabul palsy so that they can walk freely and unaided. This just recently got funded but only for kids ageing upwards from the age of 3 and 9. Though shauney is over the moon for them, she can't help but feel forgotten about. It's okay only funding kids but what about older people who have suffered with this condition for well over their whole entire lifes. Funding for SDR should be funded for all ages, is it right to exclude someone from having their lives changed for the better, all just for funding being limited to age?  I understand kids will be a priority but what about long time suffers? don't they deserve a chance at their dream? This needs the right funding, I won't stop campaigning until it gets exactly that.
