In the UK, pets are considered property in the eyes of the law. So, if anything happens to them, it will be treated the same way as someone putting your window through or breaking a vase.

I believe that there should be a different classification for all pets as they are living things and many of us do not see them as our property, they are our family.

This would mean that our pets would be treated as their own living things and make it easier for us to get justice for them when they need it.
