UEFA’s newest initiative ‘#EqualGame’ is designed to promote diversity, inclusion and accessibility to the people’s game. However, destinations for the final seem to be less about that and more about £££.

It is not acceptable for anyone to be left behind from a European final, it is bad enough so many fans cannot make it. Something can and should be done as it is not right, if this was Lionel Messi staying at home then I’m sure that would not happen. Why is it OK to hand an advantage to opponents due to xenophobia? UEFA are responsible for guaranteeing safety and without the fans and the players they are nothing. 

Henrikh Mkhitaryan has been a vital member of Arsenal’s final run. If there was an injury how can you allow a fully-fit professional to not do his job in order of safety issues? It will be swept under the carpet, but it has huge ramifications on Arsenal’s future seasons as well as the rarity of a European final for fans and players! We as the UK should stand together, especially considering that 4 English teams have made it to both European finals. The game will still go on. Because us fans love the sport so much. But it is unacceptable to be taken advantage of, as let’s be honest a Arsenal vs Chelsea final was the bookie’s favourite this campaign. 

This Europa League campaign has been outrageous, I understand and agree finals should be accessible all around the world and are decided long before a final. But I can assure you most fans would struggle to make the commute which has caused around half the awfully low ticket allocation for supporters of 12,000 to be handed back. That is unacceptable. But at least there will be plenty of tickets for Henrikh Mkhitaryan and his family...
