In the UK, BSL bans the ownership of four different types of dogs, pit bull terrier, Japanese Tosa, Dogo Argentino and Fila Braziliero. Breed selective legislation is outdated and cruel, dogs are euthanised because they are categorised as dangerous dogs based purely on their looks. Every dog has the potential to be dangerous regardless of breed, shape or size. Please end BSL immediately or at least consider updating the legislation to allow these breeds to be kept on registered license to enable further education and research into the specific breeds currently banned in the uk. These dogs didn’t ask to be put in to situations such as dog fights etc, people trained them to do it... people are at fault not dogs. Please consider this petition carefully rather than casting aside simply because of narrow mindedness.
