In view of the recent, and heartbreaking media story of Bella the dog being thrown in, weighted down and left to drown in the river Trent, I would like to see a UK mandate put in action for the harshest penalties to be implemented for those found guilty of animal abuse.

Warnings are not enough....

Court fines are not enough....

"Banning" the ownership of animals to those people for a "period of time" is not enough.....

As the adopter of two abandoned Romanian street rescue dogs, and the gut wrenching pain I feel thinking of what they had been through before finding charity help, i am saddened and sickened that we as humans can behave this way to defenceless and unconditionally loving creatures.

Fight for those who cannot fight for themselves
