Increasingly beauty and cleaning products are going cruelty free and choosing to sport the 'Cruelty-Free' Leaping Bunny label on their items. We believe that it should be a legal requirement for products in the cosmetics and household cleaning industry, which are not cruelty free (meaning they are not certified by Cruelty International and do not have Leaping Bunny certification) to make that clear on the product with the 'NOT Cruelty-Free' label. Consumers should be made aware of the cruelty status of the product they are buying. This added awareness would allow consumers to make their own choices, and would likely lead to more companies being driven to go 'Cruelty-Free' in order to best their competitors and make their products more attractive to consumers. Waitrose, M and S, Tesco, Superdrug and Boots all sport the 'Cruelty-Free' label on their own cleaning and beauty ranges, these brands demonstrate how easy it is for a company to be 'Cruelty-Free' in 2021, and this change in legislation would be a big push in the right direction and force brands to follow the trend and go 'Cruelty-Free'!
