The Issue

Hi,

I’ve started this petition as I see so many people walking around stores with exemption badges and lanyards they’ve made themselves or bought of any number of online retailers.

This could mean that potentially many people who just don’t want to wear a mask are making or buying them with no checks to ensure they are exempt just so they can get away with not wearing one without being challenged.

To make this so it’d work it would mean that a GP, other medical professional or an automated process would need prescribe or issue an official exemption identifier.

Ideally it should have the persons photo and name to prevents it being passed onto other people afterwards, so long as they have a medical condition that makes them exempt.

All other exemption lanyards/badges should then be ignored.

I think this would that make it harder for those that just don’t want to wear a mask from getting away with it and putting lives at risk.

Hopefully enough people agree and will sign.
