Matt Robinson started this petition to UK Parliament

It is evident to see the crimes against humanity that the Israeli Defence Force are inflicting on Palestinian citizens for generations now. It is getting worse as Israel's ethnic cleansing in the occupied West Bank and the deliberate bombing of civilians and the infrastructure in Gaza is a war crime and a crime against humanity.

The IDF have been responsible for the deaths of thousands of Palestinian men, women and children and they continue to act in a barbaric way towards Palestinian civilians without any recourse from their own government or the international community.

Citizens from all around the world are allowed to join the IDF as 'lone soldiers' under the 'Mahal' programme, and commit these heinous crimes with impunity, then return to their countries of origin and not face justice.

This petition is to get the British government to raise the issue for discussion in parliament, that it should be illegal for British citizens to go to Israel, join the IDF as 'lone soldiers', and to serve in a military organisation which has and continues to break multiple UN resolutions, is in continual breach of International Humanitarian Law, and commits war crimes and crimes against humanity. Any British Citizens that do join the IDF should face the same penalties as any British Citizen that joins a fighting or terror organisation outside of the UK. It is also a crime under British law for a British nationals to serve in a foreign army under the 'Foreign Enlistment Act 1870' making it a criminal offence.

Britain likes to be seen to uphold values of humanity and justice, and by raising this point for discussion in Parliament, will be on the right side of history when our children and grandchildren look back and say 'We did not let our citizens go and fight for persecution, oppression and injustice'.
