Maintain Our Food and Animal Welfare Standards

Maintain Our Food and Animal Welfare Standards
The Issue
We're facing the danger of a substantial increase in cases of food poisoning and other health issues, due to the import of produce from the US, under a new trade deal.
Lobbyists are expecting us to
Loosen our precautionary principle for food & farming standards, end our 'safety first' principle to chemicals, end our ban on ractopamine pork, end compulsory labelling on GMOs, scrap laws on traditional foods & regional specialities, remove compulsory labelling for food additives & E numbers, stop testing pork for parasitic worm and slash cattle farmer subsidies.
Allow chlorinated chicken, hormone treated beef, minimally regulated GM foods and antibiotic-treated meat without controls.
Legalise pesticides which are banned under our laws.
We're not subservient to the US, and must not be treated as such. Any trade deal must be within the constraints of our laws on food safety and animal welfare.
Please add your voice and let the government know that we do not accept this.
Thank you.
