I am an animal lover and I have just read a horrific story about a man who seriously battered his dog while his partner did nothing to prevent this. The man was given just a FOUR month prison sentence while his partner got a suspended sentence. They have been banned from keeping animals for ten years. I think this is absolutely appalling. The sentences given were a joke and I do not think they should ever be allowed to have animals again. I think the law needs changing to protect animals. The sentenses are far to low and these people should be banned from ever having animals again.
