Today I read an article in the news, yet another scumbag got off with a ridiculously light sentence for beating his dog to death, putting her in a cardboard box and burying her in a communal garden. He was heard on many occasions shouting and screaming at his poor dog and nothing was done!! He got 16 weeks in prison for such an evil, cruel act. 16 WEEKS!!! 

I then did some research and was appalled to find that most if not all of the people who commit these evil crimes get off so lightly with no real punishment imposed. I refer you to the prosecution’s annual report from the RSPCA from 2018. I implore you to read it. It’s disgusting. Reading what these vile humans have done to these vulnerable, innocent, helpless animals and the punishment they received is shocking to say the least!!

I am an animal lover and it literally breaks my heart to know that hundreds of thousands of calls get made every year to report some form of cruelty or neglect against animals. The numbers are rising! Why are they rising?! Because there is no deterrent in place! A few weeks in prison is nothing! These people come out and go on to own more animals and reoffend! They are criminals and should be treated as such! If you hurt an animal especially to the point of death you should serve YEARS in prison not weeks! If someone is capable of murdering an animal what else are they capable of?! The law needs to change! Animals aren’t here to be abused! They are here to be loved and cared for properly! Until laws are changed that make no exceptions for different cultures or personal circumstance the numbers will continue to rise!!

I don’t care what you believe in or what your circumstances are there is no excuse for hurting or mistreating a helpless animal!! With so many different social media platforms, every day I’m seeing some form of abuse against an animal! Instead of just sharing an article and commenting on how angry it makes you let’s use these social media platforms to actually make a difference!!

Sign and share this petition and let’s get as many signatures as possible!! Let us be heard and have something done about it!! No more soft sentences, no more suspended sentences, no more excuses!! Let’s save animals lives and make sure people are loving their pets as they should! These animals don’t ask to be domesticated, they don’t want to be trained as guard dogs, overbred or used for bait. They want to be loved! That’s all. We domesticated these animals and have them for pets the least we can do is give them amazing lives and love them!
