With two of my dogs being attacked in the last 4 months I’ve really been thinking about the dogs that are the ‘attackers’. In most cases when a dog is aggressive it’s not a personal choice but is instead down to the way the dog was brought up. However the dogs often don’t get a second chance and end up being put down. This means that the dogs are paying a bigger price than the owners who either pay a fine and/or the vets bills of the other dog which I don’t think is enough to actually make a change to the owner(s) of the ‘aggressive’ dog. I think that there should be a school made just for dogs that have been reported for behavioural issues where they can be given a second chance and learn how to socialise and become a much happier pet. It should be a place where if a dog is reported they must be sent to this school and not just recommended to the owner to make sure that a difference is made and UK streets are safer for all. It could also be a place for the owners to understand how important it is to socialise their dogs.
