Deforestation accounts for the loss of around 18 million acres of rainforest each year. These rainforest are home to a multitude of incredible animals that are quickly loosing their homes and their families.

As consumers we have the right to know what our food contains. Companies are listing palm oil under different names to deceive the public. I call for the government to change the way our food labels look to include a stamp indicating that palm oil is in the product. This would be on the front of the label along with the nutrition information and traffic light system. 

This would make consumers consider their choices when purchasing products and therefore making companies look at alternative ingredients to keep profit.

It is estimated that the rainforests will have been destroyed in less than 100 years. Let’s change this.
