This weekend we returned to Legoland. Oh my goodness, the progress is astonishing. They've gone above and beyond what we could have ever have hoped for. Our time at the park was wonderful. The designated accessibility team talked us through all the rides. The staff at all the rides treated us respectfully and chatted to us. Sebby and Lottie had an amazing time. We had the enjoyable experience we thought we'd have nearly two years ago.
I have so many people to thank. You guys. THANK YOU. Yes I'm am pushy person and couldn't let my kids think the way Sebby was treated was acceptable, but the people who fundamentally had the power to make changes at Legoland, would not have heard me alone - you signing the petition and contacting your MPs allowed our voices to be heard which made the difference. Give yourself a pat on the back.
The journalists and presenters that put our story out there, I'm beyond grateful.
To LEGOLAND Windsor, thank you for listening. You've set a shining example of what can be done when you try to be inclusive. More needs to be done - carriages that can hold wheelchairs - but that's a long term goal, and in the short term, other theme parks need to look to you as the gold standard of how it can be done.
Fry Law you are amazing. Thank you for your support and all your hard work to achieve this.
Siobhan Baillie your support has been fantastic. I look forward to continuing to push for greater inclusion with you.
Anyone that knows me knows I'm a bit of a wear your heart on your sleeves sort of person. I feel emotional - in such a good way. I’ve put so much energy and time into pushing for a positive change, and making sure my children know I will always stand up for them. THANK YOU to everyone that has been with us on this journey.
Thank You
Joanna
