Ensure hospitals start/continue to treat cancer patients despite covid crisis

The Issue

Earlier this year many hospitals stopped offering many services including diagnostic scans and cancer treatment due to covid. Sadly so many people have and continue to have their lives cut short due to not being able to access treatment or having treatment stopped. Now covid cases are on the rise will all services grind to a halt again? Everyday there are reports in the press about people who have died leaving behind families and young children where treatment has stopped whilst covid patients were treated. Why can't the Nightingale hospitals be used and certain hospitals be kept specifically for treatment such as cancer? Why should certain people's health be prioritised?

This is something that has had a great impact on our family with both my uncle and mums partner having treatment delayed in March when services stopped, for the time being they have been the lucky ones, for others it is too late, however this may change if treatment grinds to a halt again for both NHS and private patients.

Cancer treatment needs to be continued including scans, smear tests and mammograms along with operations and chemotherapy to save the lives of so many people, young and old before this becomes another crisis.
