Enough is Enough - Stop Culling, Shooting & Hunting OUR Wildlife
The Issue
We, the British people, demand the Government stop persecuting our wildlife before it is too late, we have had enough.
Alien Species: With the war on alien species such as Grey Squirrels and Muntjacs this Government is vilifying our beautiful wildlife at the whim of the farmers and shooting lobby while turning a blind eye to the 50,000,000 (alien) pheasants reared and released each year. It goes against human kindness to force good people to refuse aid to an animal in distress.
Wildbird & Badger Culling: On top of the disastrous and unscientific badger cull wiping out complete gene pools the Government has licensed the mass shooting of Starlings, House Sparrows, Kestrels, Linnets, Bullfinches, Wrens, Sky Larks, Meadow Pipits and Robins to, among other reasons, “prevent damage to livestock” Many of these birds are on the Red and Amber List as critical. We call for this madness to stop.
Illegal Hunting. The poorly drafted act hunting carries on as if there were no 2004 Hunting Act and now attracts the more thuggish elements of society as well. The pro-hunt Government turning a blind eye to the flaws in the Act while targetting Hare Coursing sets a dangerous precedent that the Law is not applied equally. We call for an outright ban on hunting Stags, Hinds, Foxes and Hares with dogs full stop and call for the hunts (with exception of genuine drag hunts) to be disbanded
Shooting: While the fact Pheasants are an alien species is conveniently overlooked 50,000,000 are reared in horrendous conditions each year only to be shot and their bodies often just dumped. Both Pheasant and Grouse shooting do nothing for wildlife, just the opposite with gamekeepers trapping and snaring weasels and stoats in huge numbers, shooting protected birds of prey such as hen harriers, burning the heather and blanket bogs and turning the moorland into a monoculture - for which they get £ millions in subsidy along with guns oaying several £ thousand for a days shooting. We call for an end to the shooting industry.
