With all the dog thefts going on around the UK recently, I thought it was about time a petition was started to toughen the law on this crime. To anyone who has a dog or any pet they will understand they are not just a pet or an animal but part of the family (like a child). I therefore think the law surrounding animal theft should be reviewed and look upon the same as human kidnapping.

I believe the solution to this should be a punishment the same as kidnapping, this can result in lengthy prison sentences with no caution as an animal theft would leave a family in great distress.

My two dogs are my kids and they make our family and if anything was to happen to them I would be beside myself. Dogs lives matter as much as a child does.
