Change the Abortion Law in Northern Ireland

The Issue

The Abortion Law Act of 1967 allows most abortions to women in most cases up to 24 weeks from conception. However this law only applies to Great Britain and not Northern Ireland, denying women the rights the rest of the country has. In Northern Ireland the laws are more strict than the ones currently being voted on in Alabama, and subjects women to the risks of unsafe abortions which are against the law and would make these women face imprisonment.

This petition is to ask that United Kingdom Government to take action and update these laws in line with the rest of the country, and to go above the devolved government, which currently does not have a power sharing agreement, so that these women have the same basic human rights others have and that they deserve.
