Belgium have banned the buying of FIFA points due to the micro transactions violating gambling laws.

FIFA are now removing it from the game for people in Belgium while users still retain access to ultimate team and can earn packs the hard way.

The fact that FIFA points are used in a form that could be considered gambling takes advantage of people with addictive personalities that may not even realise they are gambling. Particularly children are vulnerable to the tactics EA and FIFA use to sap as much money out of players as possible.

Quite often parents may not even though what their money is being spent on or even in some cases that it is being spent. The value for money is terrible even £20 may not be enough to get a halfway decent card and only make you want to spend more to make the whole ordeal worth it.

As for actual gameplay effects, this would also stop GOD like teams ruining it for everyone else by buying their way to the top. It would stop the insane amount of specials cards being created for the stupid reasons like Halloween specials.

This would force EA to either remove Micro transactions completely or design a more responsible way of allowing people to put money into the game.

If EA and FIFA aren't going to take responsibility for their actions and regulate this disgusting aspect of games nowadays then we should do it for them.

If we can get the government to adjust the gambling laws and make the loot box format illegal it will be a win for all players (except maybe youtubers lol) . We need 100,000 signatures to get make progress in raising awareness with the government.
