In August 2018 it was announced that the use of shock collars for cats and dogs would be banned.

This ban has yet to be legislated and therefore is not in force with many cats and dogs still suffering as a result.

Was the announcement merely smoke and mirrors offered as an appeasement with no intention to enforce the ban? 

Our cats and dogs need our voices to stop such inhumane training methods, we must continue to petition the government to get the ban put in to force.

The new government has yet to assign a petitions committee but with enough support we can lobby parliament.

Shock collars have no place in animal training and can cause physical, emotional and mental suffering, with such claims backed up by much research.

As a nation of animal lovers we must continue to fight for their welfare!
