Battle Homelessness in UK

Battle Homelessness in UK

The Issue

Summary: There are 236,000 documented homeless people across England, Scotland and Wales. Every day many British citizens, primarily men, are forced to sleep on the road, under bridges and on public trains.

Personal story: My names Jenna Young. I'm an American Citizen who is currently homeless in the UK due to unforeseen circumstances. Everyday I walk around or use public transport I come into contact with so many people who are British that are not receiving support from their own people let alone their own government. The sad reality is that most of these homeless are men. Some are struggling with mental health issues that are being left untreated, drug addictions and alcohol addictions. Some of these people are just like me, homeless from circumstances that were unforseen and out of their countrol. As a nation we can't stand by and allow this to happen. The British government HMRC collects over 540 billion pounds in revenue and only pays out a mere 1 percent of this towards housing and benefits. We as a people cannot sit by anymore and accept this form of greed and watch our own people be treated like this. It's an atrocity and reflects badly on the British government. Everyone deserves equal treatment regardless of sex, race, ethnicity etc. Please stand with me and sign this petition.

The issue: Homelessness in UK. It affects me because I'm one of them.

Take action! There is nothing we have to lose by trying. Only the possibility of being heard by the government and action being taken
