Throughout the Grand National's history 84 horses have now died taking on the Aintree course. The vast majority of these deaths occurred before 2000 with 13 deaths since the turn of the millenium. There had been no deaths since 2012 in the main Grand National race until now 2019. This is animal cruelty and should be banned.
