Lewis Hamilton has represented the UK in the sport of Formula 1, recently being tied for record number of Championships held in the sport and surpassing Michael Schumacher's number of race wins making him the most successful Formula 1 race car driver ever. He continues to be a great example for the country and world youth, showing that besides your circumstances with hard work and determination you can achieve success at the highest levels. He is also attempting to bring about change in his sport to make it more inclusive and accessible for the wider world.

He is a very decent guy and an outstanding sports person and it is my firm belief that he should be given the honour of being awarded a Knighthood for representing Britain on the world stage. 

Besides his work in sport he his is widely respected and admired for his contributions to human rights, diversity and environmentalism. His advocacy is often opposed because some people think he should not be using his platform as a place to promote these issues but the world appreciates his courage and his drive.

He has overcome so much in so little time without the typical resources needed. I think it would be a great injustice not to recognise him and his talent with a Knighthood.
