Please help save the UK plant nursery!

The Government advice updated on 14 January included "nurseries" in businesses that are not permitted to open to the public. This has meant that retail nurseries have been confined to mail order and click and collect sales ever since. Garden centres, on the other hand, have been allowed to open in England since May 18. There is no justifiable reason to be treated differently.

We wish plant nurseries to be treated like garden centres and allowed to open during lockdown.

It has been a very tough time for the small plant nursery and this is a big blow to our business that we cannot open for Easter weekend, which is a plant nurseries Christmas. It is the biggest gardening weekend of the year, which we missed last year.

Plant nurseries are the backbone of the horticultural industry, propagating and growing the plants that you have in your gardens and kitchens. We are simply requesting to be allowed to open and petitioning against the 'Unfair' retail nursery lockdown rule.
