Kashmir is situated in the heart of South Central Asia and is called a "Heaven on Earth" because of its beauty. Its larger than over 100 other Independent sovereign countries in the World with a population of 20 million, including 1.5 million residing in UK.

Conflict: Kashmir was invaded by foreign forces in October 1947 soon after the end of British rule from India. Indian forces entered Kashmir with the consent of Lord Mount Batten (the last British Viceroy for India) promising to give Kashmiri people Right of Self-Determination.Thus, Kashmir is a conflict left behind by British in 1947 and nearly half a million Kashmiris have lost their lives since then. Number is still growing on daily basis.

On 13th of August 1948, International community in UN, also recognised Kashmiri people's Right to decide their future. Both India and Pakistan promised to give people of Jammu Kashmir a chance to use their right in peaceful manner by Demilitarising Kashmir. Unfortunately, India, Pakistan, UN and International Community failed to deliver their commitments, while people of Jammu Kashmir continue to suffer and state is divided in four parts.

Indian governments changed their stance by passage of time by claiming Jammu Kashmir an integral part of India. Because of this, a movement for independence rose. Since uprising from 1989, over 800,000 Indian forces are stationed in Kashmir, over 100,000 massacred, over 30,000 women gang raped by Indian solders, tens of thousands in prisons without trial, many thousands missing, mass graves found, and recent brutal Indian State terrorism in uniforms and refusal to allow UN and other humanitarian organisations to investigate these brutalities.

Despite all of this, UK government has also changed its stance and is reluctant to use its influence to end sufferings in Kashmir by  saying it is a 'bilateral  issue' between India and Pakistan.

'RAPE OF MORE THEN 30,000 WOMEN BY A REGULAR ARMY CAN'T BE AN INTERNAL ISSUE OF A COUNTRY'.

ITS AN ISSUE FOR HUMANITY TO STAND FOR.

Please Sign the petition for UK Parliament (using the link below), to urge the UK government and Parliament to support Demilitarisation, Unification and Right of Self-Determination for Kashmiri people and to use its influence to end sufferings in Kashmir.
